THERE'S A LIMIT TO YOUR LOVE

Something that I styled and photographed a while back for my portfolio!
This week I am preparing my photo for a group exhibition, enjoy free drinks and finish a photo essay book.
There was a palm tree placed in middle of snow by the way, that's how the students roll here. Summer on our minds...

YOUTH KNOWS NO PAIN

On Saturday, I had business dinner with Sinikka and went through some of the pictures from our 10300 shoot. I am wearing metal/wood earrings, old cable knit, Samu Jussi Koski for Marimekko blazer with satin details and slits in elbows...and giving my best hangover smile.

We had two slices of delicious pizza and tiramisu but still got some work done, score. In the last picture you can see a little taster of what's about to come, excited!

On a side note, I lost my heart to Lara Stone running around in rainy NYC and choosing the right apple and she also accidentally finds the perfect hunk while doing all this.
You just have to got to love the world and life in general in fragrance ads...

This is the start, the next two months are going to be intense to get the publication together (and printed...we are open for sponsorships). It is going to be a beautiful thing!

IN HEAT

While the model was having a smoke, I stepped in for a quick light test...
We shot the cover and editorial today for 10300, a publication I'm leading coming out in May.
I am so excited by all the talented people I have on board, wow guys!
Today felt like summer, the direct sun, an inside heatwave in middle of minus fifteen, wonder who of us has sunburned cheeks tomorrow...
If there's a better way to spend Sunday than with og Helmut Lang, old Raf Simons, inspiring people and sun, let me now!

The sun has been out, I've been writing job applications, giving a try to NYFW and listening to some rap.
Ok, I think Ohne Titel, Theyskens' Theory and Calvin Klein Collection were pretty solid. In that order.

A warning though, this time of the year I get my fashion awakening, look forward to photobooth pictures of my new favorite, ochre silk shirt that is longer in the front (and cost me 1,5 e BOOM), three color block mohair sweater I practically live in and sporty leather jackets I think people have been neglecting.

It's like every spring I am trying to figure out who I am and what I want to become but this time I've done some research.
I just remember this one moment in London, right after my LCF interview, I was so happy, walked half an hour to wherever my happiness took me, my silk shirt flowing, my Rick shawl keeping me warm, sturdy boots, a nice maxi skirt and a light-coloured leather jacket, a very simple one. I was so happy. Then I turned around and got back to reality but I took a mental note to have that moment again as soon as possible and continue with it. One day you're going to like the side you wake up...

My interview went really well!
And everything from NYFW is a total bummer so far but fuck do I care.

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the sun shines through my dusty window, my portfolio is ready and yesterday after listening to four hours of printer symphony, I let go...I know what I am looking for, I am breathing it, transfixed by the reflection of light in the snow, I want it, I want it all now, I've got so far to go.
You know you're doing good when a crisis outfit consists of Lanvin and you calm down immediately after five minutes of J Dilla.
I'm here now.

THAT'S HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN

Hello guys, just found out yesterday that I have an interview for London College of Fashion, Fashion Photography BA. In a week. Flights booked. I also have a little bump in my forehead since yesterday I also smacked my face with Olympus OM. Oh, the irony...

Wish me luck! LOTS OF IT!
And I need patience to be my best friend while I'm printing out my portfolio with non-calibrated screen and negatives I have scratched...

LAITINEN MENSWEAR AW11/12

These are my favorites from Finnish label Laitinen for Fall 2011: amazing prints and jackets to dream about, as usual. I am especially feeling the muddy colour version, an evolution from their usual blue prints and the dropped belt trousers matched with the jacket in the fourth picture pair. You can place the look in Russian countryside, year 1911, but it still manages to look straight up contemporary. The rest of the collection also features beautiful knits and clever silhouettes, inspired by old armywear and new wave. And a dash of unexpected purple keeping it fresh! RUNNING THE GAME

Hi guys, this is what I did in school today. Our assignment was to choose a song or an album, intepret it and do our own cover art. I chose jj's song Still and used pictures that I photographed on Monday in studio with my Canon 1D Mark II that I got from repair a while back. I was pretty happy with my work and not throwing my tea's to InDesign so I'm sharing this with you! The 'Still' is front image and jj is in the back so it reads out Still JJ, coming from the Still D.R.E beat the song uses. And the smoky print because the song also has some Lil Wayne lines. Yeah I know I'm too clever...
