CHECK THE RESUME, IT'S RISKY BUSINESS IN THE AIR

Me by Jukka, 2011.

When you're hangover, it's easier to cope with that from the overpriced film you bought, exposed and developed slightly off, there is a one great picture but sadly you weren't the one to take it. At least it's a picture of me, ha ha!

KEEP THE STREETS EMPTY FOR ME

Givenchy Haute Couture SS11, inspired by Japan.
Okay, the silhouettes are similar to the last collection, but that doesn't stop me wishing I was married to an Middle Eastern oil prince right now...
Or I can just spend 4,000 hours sewing the beads alone.

CHUCKING UP THEM DEUCES

"Would you like a glass of champagne, miss?"
After a day of hard work in cold and a crashing down,
oh no, mister charming sommelier,
I would kill for a glass of Moet.

Just like today, all this failure,
absence,
forgotten by the taste of expensive chocolate,
ten minutes of Rachmaninoff,
leaving is what matters in the end,
and I realized,
I must be one of those who leave when they stay.
With a bite, a sip, a note, when it's intense,
fuck it, today is a great day with all it's faults included.
Some people know, they know, they should, they really should...

Dated on my 20th birthday.

new work

On Sunday I am doing a photoshoot for my portfolio, I have ten outfits and Iida is my model, this is a test photo I took of her while we were doing a fitting. With styling I am going with a lot of muddy colours and blue-based prints, shiny fabrics mixed with ruggy fabrics and a dash of white and some unique leather pieces. You'll see the outcome in couple of weeks!

Here's the song of the weekend:

Have the best so far, why not?

PRESSURE IS A PRIVILEGE

Helmut Lang cellophane silk tank, Only maxi-skirt, second hand Jil Sander blazer, leopard print shades and white leather cuff.

My classmate Iida took these photos, thanks!

This week, I've had a lecture on baroque. I think I missed the one about renaissance. Basically, all good in the hood...

I recieved the HL tank I ordered a while back. The print is insane, but the fit not so good. Luckily nothing too bad that a blazer can't hide. I've also been suicidal and went to ebay and typed the words 'helmut lang' and 'leica' in there. Not good for my mental health at all... there's a great og Helmut Lang leather bag and cuff on auction, go take a look if you have a job or a sugar daddy.

Ps. listen to jj - Pressure Is a Privilege. I think if I did music, it would be very close to what jj puts out...this song is a little masterpiece!

I LOVE YOU

Helmut Lang Spring Summer 2002

Just because I haven't mentioned Helmut Lang in a long time...
Damn I miss desginers who actually communicated ideas...
And what else do I love right now?
Roy Andersson films, eating out and having drinks with friends.
And I miss friends who are far away by now.
Skype ain't just cutting it.

I CAN'T HELP FEELING, WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL

laura skateboarding

Laura skateboarding and standing in front of flowers, Autumn 2010.

I finished my personal statement for UK Universities today.
I applied to Central Saint Martins for Fashion Communication and Promotion,
London College of Fashion for Creative Direction for Fashion and Fashion Photography
and then University of Creative arts for Fashion Promotion & Imaging and Photography (the latter is a collaboration school with the school I am now so basically I'm guaranteed to get in to the Photography program).

Wait, how many times did I just write fashion there?
I am also going to also apply to Stockholm University's Fashion Studies where I got in this year but it never worked out.
And I'm taking a weekly sketching course in case I feel like applying for TAIK here in Finland later. I got to the final stage in the entrance exams this year, too bad I totally lacked the skills...1/5 points from all the last assignments was a bummer. And I do blame my drawing skills, not the clothes I imagined, ha ha.

Fuck it, I just want to say that it took me a good amount of time and patience from my friends to finally get to this cocky, I'm here to learn and I'm pretty awesome and talented stage. I am fully enjoying it.

Have a great weekend you all!

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY DREAMS, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY DREAMING ANYMORE

Laitinen jacket, rest second hand. Photos Sinikka Konttinen .

I've got a secret obsession for double prints and colour.
It's just one of those yeah, it's hard, wait it's not, I think I want a blue car next type of situations.
Well, I'm sure some of you have heard James Blake in these recent months.
I really like his new song, Wilhelms Scream, especially tonight, I'm burning candles, the snow falling outside and I'm seeing my friends soon.
It's a sweet song. I bet he's going to be the R.Kelly of our generation.

I don't know about my love
I don't know about my lovin anymore
All that I know is
I'm lovin, lovin, lovin, lovin
Might as well love you

Have a great weekend everyone!

OK, FIRST THINGS FIRST, I'LL EAT YOUR BRAINS

1. Photo Maarten Vanden Abeele, coreography Pina Bausch 2. Raf Simons Embroideried shoes I found from here.

Now, this is what I live for.
Eventually you just get to that point.
You take a mental note or two, Moleskines are mainstream behaviour.

My mom offered me a cigarette.
To keep away the moths in your wool, she said.
This is a first obsession that I think runs throught the family.

I also figured out why I will never be a great photographer.
Great photographers have a certain touch.
I'm all hands on, you know?

To wake up every day and think what I can give, instead of take...
It's like listening to an ukulele cover of Darth Vader theme.
While writing things that can shape the rest of your life.

I know that sounds too epic but it's just as worse as people from middle class going to trips to search themselves and be free.
Wake up, if you want to know what freedom really is simply go somewhere where it doesn't exist.
Give your tickets to me, I've learned the world through a screen.

Give a better excuse why you can't love while staying here.
You're afraid, aren't you?
I can always tell, I'm doing it too, but without the privileges.

MY NIGHTS ARE TURNING INTO DAYS

Right now: Creep - Days (Azari & III remix), Ciara - Deuces (Dubbel Dutch Soca Remix) and a great feeling about 2011 and the history of magazines.

Today I wore Wolford Velvet De Luxe 66, Rick Owens shawl as a flowy maxi dress, a silk knit with unraveled back (pictured), a dark grey Repeat merino wool cardigan that has been a pretty good deal the past years since I paid 5 euros for it and my new errand jacket, a vintage Burberry trench. A pair of sturdy leather boots, too. It was a great day. Even if I only did groceries, sent emails and my plans for the evening revolve around art documents. It's going to be absolutely wild and emotional. And I am not being sarcastic.

2011

It is not so much about moving on anymore, because I am very fond of all those places I have been. But there is something about age, I had that even before, even when I was very young. I believe that every time you start, you feel like you are 18— you have to understand how everything works, how the relationship with people is, what you can do. I am trying to find an answer to it, perhaps that’s why this trying to get a lot of different lives, to feel like you are a kid again & again. When I was a girl I went to Sienna— my mouth dropped— wow! The first time you would arrive to New York, or the first time you would arrive somewhere else there used to be that— wow! Now it’s much harder to find something really new— we have seen all those pictures… yet it is still a new experience to live in a different environment, there is something about the language, I like to talk a lot, perhaps not to talk, but to be talked to… I like things that are talked, I love to read too, but you know what I mean… I like most to find somebody, somebody very old, so they can tell me stories about things I don’t know, about places I don’t know.

- Michele Lamy in SOME/THINGS about moving and starting new lives in her past

Beautiful magazine, beautiful life.
