Hello.
I love this editorial.
Kinda funny because for a while I lost my hope in fashion photography.
Ok, one can say that this is very mediocre, lying solely on Photoshop's features.
But that's alright.
I still love it.
The editorial is titled The Decline of the Bourgeosie and it's from Sunday Times STYLE edition.
The photographer is Vanina Sorrenti and the model Cato Van Ee.
And why do I love this editorial?
Because it's everything at once.

Naked, covered up, something in between, like we all are, both inside and outside.
Everything's wrong yet we're still happy.

The styling is gorgeous mix of gold, shine and luxurious textures in a way that you don't almost notice them at the first glance. Take a look at the first image. Notice that background? Well I don't know but atleast it took me a while to figure out it's a close-up of a fabric.

That's the beauty of it, almost.

BECAUSE THERE WAS LIKE 3 MINS OF DINOSAURUXIA´S SONG SUPERNOVA EXPLODING MAITOALLERGIA (eng. Milk Allergy) DURING ANTTI ASPLUND'S INTRODUCTION SEGMENT! OK only the starting beat of the song or whatever but still! (Tomorrow they are supporting Nite Jewel at Korjaamo yaaay!)

Because I did the entry video thingie of his hshhahahahah my director's debut on TV, it's all downhill after that 30 seconds. The show is going to be great though I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I got cowboy boots for free and grabbed a black full length overcoat and a ironic hipster t-shirt (hey that's how I´m going to wear it) with a cat (sitting in a bathroom with eyes glowing YEAH).

PS I bought a Filippa K tunic from Gaudete a week ago and it has totally increased my quality of life.

MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR

Kill the Noise last night at Redrum, I had a fun night except I tripped over in the end of it and my hand landed in glass and I got a deep cut and my friend had two white shirts on and well, they're not so white anymore. I was acting so hysteric, sorry everyone! My friend called an ambulance and we went to Maria's hospital (funny cause Maria is also my name haha) and I got about 6 stiches. I'm okay now!

I was wearing my new LBD! 26 euros fromm UFF, the lace is pretty trashed by now.

And hey next Tuesday is car free day so if you're coming to the DINOSAURUXIA show in Kannelmäki with public transportation, it's sooo much cheaper!

It's happening in Kanneltalo, Kannelmäki, Helsinki and It's part of the Kanneltalo Electro Nights. On Tuesday 22. September, starting 18 and going on for an hour, DINOSAURUXIA presents their songs with a white piano, shy boys playing guitars AND Visuals by VJ Sakke Soini! That dude is working with Dita Von Teese and STUFF!! So, all of this is pretty exciting..and we want you to come to see it!! The train ride + walk from Helsinki centre is 17 minutes and there are signs everywhere...so getting there is no excuse! We love you.

Why is it that in midst of New York Fashion Week I'm most drawn to this lookbook image from A Friend by AF Vandevorst SS10 line? OK, Calvin Klein hasn't been showed yet, Helmut Lang was great and I liked Max Azria somehow, especially cause they had xx as the soundtrack. Everything is just so awfully nice and repetitive and 20 years ago...don't know, this picture feels human.

And hey people from Finland what do you have scheduled for next Tuesday? How about some cool electronic music for free in a weird place accompanied by a white piano and kick ass visuals? You only have to take the train. More tomorrow!

GIRL TALK

Me chilling with a nice rug...

Repeating an outfit, I hadn't showered for a day and couldn't remember anything about the night before, well anything after 00.30 that is (all good though....you know, I was also waiting for Gossip Girl to start but why I need that for when I've got real life). Just being honest. One of the good things about life is that you can just wash all of this away by spraying some hair products on, applying plum eyeshadow (totally matching my eye colour) and using a flash. Plus I'm pretty sure if I weighed 20 kilos less this same face would be making some serious money (yeah I'm 176 cm, you just never see that because I don't work out and my thighs aren't "in shape" and I'm overly concious about that in photographs. WTF? Who the fuck cares?). And to think they used to call me a nightmare in middle school, based on my physical appearance...though now on a single walking trip to a bar I actually got "pretty girl with ugly glasses" and "you're too tall"...what's wrong with people? Why do they feel like shouting these things to a total stranger? Real life ha, not that far away from classrooms. You can never win. Oops...my friend told me I shouted at some dog walker on our way home because some nice dog came to cheer us. But usually when I'm under the influence I just try to dance the hell out of myself even if there's two people on the dancefloor, the music is shit and people are more intrested in visuals that have got something to do with Monty Python. You know, just keeping it real.

OK, MY FRIEND HAS THIS FEARLESS CAT...SO FEARLESS HE DECIDED TO TRY HIS LUCK AND JUMP FROM THE 6TH FLOOR AND HIT THE ASPHALT. HE'S STILL ALIVE BECAUSE LIFE WINS BUT IT HARDLY HELPS TO PAY THE FOUR FIGURE VET BILLS. SURGERIES ARE EXPENSIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FRIEND EXACTLY ISN'T A WEALTHY OC REAL LIFE HOUSEWIFE WHO COULD USE THAT MONEY ON HER LIPS (NO JUDGEMENT OF COURSE BUT LIFE JUST ISN'T FAIR). LUCKILY, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CAN BE DESCRIBED AS DRIVEN AND ENTHUSIASTIC AND WHO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, LIKE DESIGNER ANTTI ASPLUND WHO WAS THERE WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. HE DECIDED TO HELP A FRIEND OUT AND MADE THE EFFORT TO LAUNCH AN CHARITY T-SHIRT/DRESS TO COVER THE MEDICAL COSTS. MAJOR APPRECIATION!!! 2. Haha that's my bored hipster face in Hel-Looks! Taken in Kiasma during the Pipilotti Rist exhibition opening. The day before Kiasma's KULTU youth group I'm part of had the chance to be present while Pipilotti Rist herself walked through and explained the exhibition, this even before the ELLE VIP Opening! Ha! Well the exhibition itself is chill, consisting of video installations you can jump into, sit under an tree and watch like the night sky.

I'm wearing friends hat and Marimekko skirt, the rest is second hand. That shirt looks weird and wrinkly, well because it's wrinkly and a black silk shirt with shoulderpads....which I find pretty cool for 3,50. I love love the skirt, for a long time I thought it was a miss and wondered why I bought it because it was like 40 euros and that considering it's basically acetate...yet I find myself wearing it every other day.

You've got to listen to Polly Scattergood if you haven't already, her first album is one of the stuff I constantly have on repeat. Fuck how goooooood! Especially Vince Clark's remix of Other Too Endless or Golden Filter's remix of Please Don't Touch.

And oh yeah, like Stella McCartney put it back then, just enjoy life while you're around.
