Lately I've started to clean out my closet with rough hand and thinking about why I end up wearing certain pieces so often and why I haven't worn something for 3 years and it's still hanging there. I've come to the conclusion that the clothes I love and cherish the most are the ones that make me hesitate when buying, thinking that I'd never wear them and in contrast clothes that I buy because of the basicness of them and the superior quality, yet at the same time thinking that this is kinda boring, do I really need this to crowd my closet. Well, these two genres of clothing do make a great mix, but the clothes in between that I've bought without much thought have hauntingly taken over. They are great pieces, but lacking that extra oomph or those extra basic clean lines. I'm slowly getting rid of them, or DIYing them, or whatever, but most of all, from now on I want to put a lot of thought to everything I buy and hesitating is OK too. For example, when these Acne shoes came out, I'd just take a glance at them and say no. Yet, a while later, they are strangely appealing...they have both the clean lines and that extra something that makes me feel like I'd wear them every day. They're like a piece of some great modern art, not too easy to digest but fucking awesome when you get to the point.

I fully agree with you on this. I've felt for a while now that I really need to start questioning the importance of every item I drag home. untouched clothing is a waste of money but great clothes can last long and bring joy every single time you put them on. so I say yesss to hesitating before purchasing!

Im just the same, I've just finished de-clutering my closet and selling them because most of them are pretty much brand new! I really need to think about what im buying from now on and be really selective. Ive wasted so much money its sad!
Anyhoooo love these acne boots, i prefer the shorter ankle ones though
