Store Bought Bones

It seems that shoulder pads and exaggerated shoulders in general are going to be huge come spring. That's fine by me, I liked what Margiela did and I've got some second hand finds that seem less show-y now, especially after seeing what Balmain had in store for us. I don't know if this is a good thing in the end, if something I bought from UFF for 30 euros has the same look as something that will probably pricetagged for more than 3,000 euros. And don't get me wrong, I don't wear things after how trendy they are but it does make me wear them with more ease. They are accepted. That's what we all want in the end, in this world.

But what I really loved was Rick Owens! All these knots! I still haven't worn much my BACK leggins with knot in the front, but I have to dig them out somewhere. All those jackets! Oh, how wrong of me, someday I want to own one of his leather jackets. Or even tanks. I'll just start with DRKSHDW or Lilies one, or else. I'm either going to be totally broke or totally miserable...that's just the way it is.

In a quick Milan recap, how wonderful was Jil Sander again? Thank you Raf. These dresses bring me closer to god. Not to mention everything else a collection that pleases me has: sleeveless vests, pantsuits with shorts and cropped upper, all that one-shoulder thing going on, actually shoulders seem to be really in the focus right now! And midriffs. I'm so excited, I get excited, you get excited, ah. I feel like a dog. Finally.

time stands still when I think of you

I totally adore DINOSAURUXIA's slideshow for their song, Sky (Time Is Unfolding) .This music is better than most of your stuff on your ipod. You could have it so much hotter!

And if I start to lose control, put on a hard face, just turn, walk out the door.

Horst Diekgerdes is one of my favorite fashion photographers, right there with Indlekofer+Knoepfiel, Yelena Yemchuck and many, many others. Here his camera loves Estonian model Karmen Pedaru. A fun fact: we are from neighbour villages! This shot is part of an editorial named Blame it on Paris that can be seen in October Vogue China. The fashion editor is Anastasia Barbieri, very cool.

This week has been really busy, and right now all of my friends are doing their huge English final exam while I'm sitting in front of school computer, just annoyed by the noise around me. I should be taking that exam too, it would be one step closer getting out of here. Except that I'm too insecure to apply anywhere when I'm supposed to and know I have to stay here little longer. And I accept the fact that right now, I may not be as techinally talented as everyone else applying. Have I even tried to fix that, draw, do atleast something creative daily? Antwerp, Vienna, St.Martins, it's all in the distance because I'm scared to start anything. I don't even know what to start, to what save my money for. All these places I've studied since I was 13...It's like, hey, nice, I'm eighteen soon. Two weeks before that, Cut Copy playing in a venue that...guess the rest. I just don't want the worst to happen. Never to believe in myself because the world out there is cruel. If I'm living in a bubble, it's self-created. A bubble, where I always thought I couldn't do something, be as good, be someone cool. Never pursued anything. Then I later realized that it might not be as hard as I thought and it depresses me to this day, making me unable to react. I'm not even talking about anything particular. It's just that when all the adults told me I could do anything I knew it would never be that easy and gave up beforehand. But right now I'll just sit here, pick up a camera, reserve shoes, see a movie, meet people, shoot something, see another movie, get a friend focus a lens on me. Still, why pamper life's complexities...

You taught me into changing nothing

I think I should start a new blog concentrating on Clubmaster-spotting. Here, they can be seen on Elsa Sylvan in Velvet's October issue, shot by Takay, styling by Laura Bianchi. Velvet is OK, I bought a issue in Italy and local fashionistas (very nice people, one of them liked Patrick Wolf, must message her on MySpace) were reading it. It's cheap too. Talking about cheap magazines, BlackBook is super nice alternative to Nylon! Their September issue has Tilda, Patti, everything. Must check if my subscription to Italian Vogue has already ran out...60 euros worth of magazines on hold and shoe size that has gone down. Losing weight only means your designer shoes just slip right off your feet. Must move on to bags, but I hate bags, ugh, all that, here is my Dior, here is my Prada, totally you know what. I've got a white duffel bag now, it's really practical and swallows everything from magazines to artsy colour photographs I've developed. But I need winter shoes, I also need many other things and the problem is: I know what I want but how do I get there without being just another carbon copy?

Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?

And all you can think about is what you can get out of this with these human sins...

Strangelove

After seeing these Stella ankle boots popping up in blogs and worn by Kate Lanphear, I had to admit myself that I'm really drawn to them. For no apparent reason! In fact, they're rather ugly and impractical! But yet, so daringly covetable...could it be the negative identity again...atleast they're vegan, to make up the shameless product raving.

Kate is looking good! I had more fun following her outfits than my predictable NYFW favorites that turned out to be questionable. London, Milan... Jil Sander and Prada from the latter and Charles Anastase and that's pretty much it. The fashion pack outfits will keep me satisfied and something will surprise me anyways. Come on, Paris!

It's just like TV, everything I could ever be is out of my hands, is out of my hands.

Q:Why did Dr. Reid start wearing glasses recently?

I was allergic to contact lens solution and wasn't able to wear my contacts. Those are my real glasses. Half the people think they're great and the other half think they're the ugliest they've ever seen and say, "You look like a nerd." I think they fit the character. Someone described it as a 1960s accountant look. It's the new black, I read in Vogue.
-Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

This is so great.....so I was doing mindless tv-watching the other day and this show, Criminal Minds was on. It's about FBI special agents and stuff, not really that intresting but when you want to get away from hand-washing your clothes again and again, it's really good. Plus one of the character is totally hot, socially awkward and wearing Clubmasters as glasses. This, my friends, this is what I live for. Move over Jensen Ackles, I've got a new TV crush, Matthew Gray Gubler and his character Dr. Spencer Reid. What's even better, those are his real glasses, he got them back in 2006! He's got a totally arty website with hand-written stuff and his artwork! He's an ex-model! He makes films! He interned for Wes Anderson! His acting career started in Andrerson's Life Aquatic! He has directed The Killers' music video for Don't Shoot Me Santa! General awesomeness!

Put your arms around me, lets go out tonight.

I love Amanda Lear! Her song Fashion Pack is on the same line with Absolutely Fabulous' Magazine episode -- totally awesome. She is like Patsy Stone anyways?! By the way, my friends think that I have the same dance moves...I'm quite flattered, actually.

What about NYFW, then, what about it. Yigal Azrouel is my favorite so far and I'm looking forward to Rodarte and Calvin Klein. Meh, today I used my week's food money for Lula because they were disappearing fastly and I got nervous..then I learned that you can keep magazines on hold for a week so I'm not so scared anymore about the other magazines I so covet but can't have just yet. The other day when I didn't have money with me and I saw New York Magazine's fashion issue and Purple and Lula and everything, I got out and felt sick. I wanted to puke. This isn't really healthy behaviour, is it, to feel nauseous when you can't have something, maybe it was just withdrawal symptoms...then I got home, scraped money togheter for NYM and happily noticed I also had money for International Herald Tribune with T inside, that had Rachel McAdams styled by Finnish Tiina Laakkonen. I'd like to do that.

The devil will find work for idle hands to do

Danish Ferndinand Amh Krag's drawings that were part of Carnegie Art Award 2008, exhibited in Kiasma earlier this year, have been inspiring me lately. Why am I fond of his work? Because like him, I enjoy neon yellow coloring pencils and what I can get out of them. Especially if it's something futuristic with lines everywhere. In other words, I do the same thing. It was really weird to see them for the first time, to see the same texture, the same shapes. I'm not the only one! Someone understands! Someone else also enjoys colouring large areas! They wanted me to continue what I was doing and really made my day. That's what inspiration is about for me. I'm out of neon coloring pencils though...

Bring me back, let me go away

Remember when some time ago I posted pictures of me and my friends totally dressed up in woods and also some pictures with blood? I'd give you a link but my photobucket album is down so you won't see them but anyways...they were from our little short film course!!! We originally wanted to do a music video for DINOSAURUXIA but Nine Inch Nails' The Slip came out with a song that was a. creative commons lisenced - nice using times without violations and b. totally in lines what we had shot!

But because my little 14-year-old-looking smoker friend is bit slow with things, its only now up on youtube. It's quite low quality and the credits are missing but whatever. And for the missing credits: Sanna, Me, Max and all our SUPER friends and Sanna's family. Thanks to our film teacher!!!
