Last week was amazing! I went to two Anton Corbijn fanmeetings, got the book, got the poster...I also took some notes, lets see what happens. Saw the exhibition of his two times, went to a screening of the new Joy Division document and also went to see Claude Monet paintings that were like drugs. I literally couldn't take my eyes off them, and that's why I'm glad I went on the last day. You know once I start I cannot stop myself...I'm sure lots of art kids read this blog and can relate to my look-at-that-sky-the-brush-work-is-out-of-this-world-I've-stood-here-for-ten-minutes
observations.
I went to a nice free, outdoor festival, saw a nice folk act John McGregor and bought a cool vegan treats recipy zine. Riot don't diet girls. I wish. I also picked up a free copy of Vihreä Lanka, a newspaper of the Green Party. Hehe. It featured a eco fashion spread styled by Liisa Jokinen, one half of Hel Looks. She had picked out jewellery by Miia Halmesmaa, very cool. We like ponies. We don't like climate change but oh all those nice things...
I also got a ticket to see Sigur Ros and new amazing shoes for a fiver from dinsko, they're copies of Miu Mius last fall's collection. It's kinda amazing that I found them from marked-down basket since I wanted the originals, but then I used my money for something else. No hard feelings. Then all of the copies I saw were fugly and overpriced for the quality, so this is wonderful. They have 4-inch heels that I didn't notice, they didn't look that high you know? They also gave me blisters, but I really didn't notice that either, if it wasn't for the blood. In other words, they're surprisingly comfortable, and you'll definitely going to see a picture of them soon.
One last thing. Why is over half of new Purple Journal's stories written in French? It's a let down, last issues stories were so cool and in English, now I can't understand anything. This is a sign that I need to pick up my French studies, and actually start reading French Vogue.
P.S MY NEW GLASSES HAVE ARRIVED! Now all they need is a lense-change, so they're shipped to Germany where all of that is done. In three years, I'll look like a phatetic hipster stuck in 2008 with her trendy Clubmasters. Sad.
